Charles Topino: Born around 1735, he worked for many years as a free-lance craftsman before being awarded the title of Master in 1773. Based on rue du Faubourg Saint Antoine, he specialized in light furniture.
The marquetry that constitutes the main attraction of his furniture is of two kinds: still lifes of teapots, vases and various utensils in the Chinese style, very fashionable in the 1770s/1775s, and garlands and bouquets of flowers set against a background of light wood, lemon or maple, in the 1775s/1780s.
